This ceramic art school is located 8 minutes walk from the former Furukawa garden which is a place of national scenic beauty where Eastern and Western culture, such as Japanese garden, Western-style building and Western-style garden are mixed. It is also 2 minutes from Nishigahara station of the Nanboku line which is the nearest station. Many students are attend professional pottery art classes, but in fact anyone can experience pottery making. The clay used here is from Shigaraki, which is easy to handle, so those who do not have experience can easily make their own work without difficulty.

Japanese professional potter teaches you directly

The teacher here studied a pottery at a prestigious arts university and has been teaching pottery for a long time, from adults to children, while also making pottery herself. She has appeared on NHK and Japanese television to teach pottery and her works have been included in many books. Because she is such an experienced teacher teaches and works so closely with her students, even though you know nothing about pottery, you can make something interesting.

Very reasonable cost

In the introductory course, you can try Japanese traditional ceramics for 2000 yen, including the cost of the materials. Since 20 colors of glazes are always available, you can make any design that you want. As there is no rule regarding design, you can make anything, not just tableware. You can also make bigger pieces at an additional cost of 800 yen, depending on the size. Needless to say, you can take your pieces back to your home and use or display the Japanese traditional pottery you made.
