To match the accelerated pace of economic globalization, TCCI strives to expand economic exchanges with other countries. TCCI also submits concrete proposals to liberalize and facilitate trade and investment through the World Trade Organization (WTO), Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and various bilateral economic cooperation committees. Moreover, TCCI endeavors to make a positive contribution to the global economy, and in particular to the development of the Asia-Pacific region, by actively presenting recommendations concerning Japan’s trade policies, programs for structural reform, development assistance, and economic and technical cooperation programs.
   TCCI serves as the secretariat of the ASEAN-Japan Economic Council (AJEC) and other bilateral and multilateral economic committees which provide valuable forums for the exchange of views concerning expansion of trade and investment, and technology transfer.
